Default Pace Car interior change

I am replacing the complete interior in my Pace Car. How "trashy" do you think it would look if I put black carpet back instead of silver? Silver is too hard to keep clean... Would also have the door panels made with black carpet in place of the silver. I am leaning towards doing this because I am not going to sell the car anytime soon if I can help it. Just thought the black carpet would set off the seats and the rest of the silver trim well. Was going to leave the storage compartment trim in silver with blk carpet on the doors as well. Too trashy?

With all the silver I feel like I am in a space capsule......

anybody?

I don't think it would look trashy. However, if you are actually soliciting opinions, mine is that it would look terrible.

The PC interior is one of the best Corvette interiors Ive even seen and along with the '82 CE, the most memorable. I understand that its hard to keep clean, but pulling a silver carpet out of a PC for ease in cleanliness sake, is like hearing a gorgeous woman say she's going to cut off all her incredible long blonde hair because, "it's too hard to take care of."

If selling the car and getting into a cheap C3 that you can change whatever you like is not a viable option, why dont you put in the right carpet and add those full size "boots" to protect the carpet from stains, etc, or a least get a set of oversized black mat that will look OK, not show dirt and you can take out whenever you want to show of the incredibly beautiful interior of your car.

thanks for the pic!!!

Now that I can see it instead of visualizing it in my pea brain, I will keep it original. I think I would get tired of the contrast after awhile. Another for "a picture is worth a thousand words"!

You can always get a set of the black ABS/carpet footwell liners. Easy way to keep your carpet looking nice for around $100.

I think you should order both colors. Switch them as your heart desires. It's not a big deal to change carpet. I bet if they made your car know the dash would be black and the carpet would be black and the seats would have black in them.

In another 10 years all the cars will have matching interior again. The manufactures have to do something to make their cars different, or we wouldn't buy them.

Either keep it original or go to ALL black interior. You can use vinyl dye on your present seats/interior panels to go black, then add black carpet. With the glut of Pace Cars out there, I don't think you will be hurting future saleability by doing that....you may even enhance it.

It's a 'special' Corvette. Keep that one original.

I had a 64 Comet Caliente that was white with a white interior. The dash and carpets were red. Probably more practical when you think about it, but the white seats on the red carpets always sort of bugged me. Take a look at the modern Mustang black interior, though. Red inserts in black seats and doors. Keep your carpet silver and invest in some good rubber mats.

Don't do it! I had black mats in my pace car when I purchased it. I could not stand them. It looked ugly. I now have the silver mats in and it looks great.
