I love the looks of ground affects on the '78-'82 Vettes in the catalogs, but I don't see many people with them. Is there a problem with these parts, or don't people like them? . Can anybody put pictures of their Vettes with these ground affects, and what they think of them
I don't believe the late C3 farings/etc. really do much for downforce [re. ground-effects]...they were mostly for "show" and for some increased airflow directed into the radiator for better cooling.
ground Effects are a real love 'em or hate 'em addition to your car, especially on a C3. There's nothing subtle about them and if overdone, can really add a look that's, well, not attractive. You almost have to be ready to take them off when you go to sell, because I think more people don't like them than do.

I've read in a couple of Corvette books that the 80-82 nose improved the aerodynamic qualities of the C3 body, but I don't remember the exact numbers. Doesn't stop it from making the front of the car look like Jay Leno's megachin, though.
It may have reduced drag a bit...helped force air around tires, etc. But I don't think it affected 'downforce' much (which was question on this thread). Mostly for "looks".
As for the air dam/nose on the late C-3's, it's main purpose was do divert air around the front of the car rather than under it. Much better downforce, less chance of becoming airborne at speed.
That, and catch and break on speed bumps and parking curbs
Have it on our 79, only issue is the front piece you must becareful you don't bang it on a cement curb it will break. Other than that, no issues very easy to remove because it's all bolted on.
I did it on the 79, because I didn't want it to look like everyone else's, same reason I didn't want TT rims on this one. Believe it or not, I get more positive comments, than negative when people see it with our Vettes at a show.
It's all a matter of choice, and it's your car. Would I add it to our 72 chrome bumper, no.
My steering would get "light" at 110 mph so I lowered front end 1" and extended spoiler down 2"....this improved situation to 120 mph or so...and I'm cheap so it was a simple fix..
I'm not that big a fan of ground effects mainly because I like to keep mine stock but as long as it's not mine.... but the one's I've seen do look nice but just not my style.
I was just going for the looks, not trying to improve the aerodynamics. I also don't like the rear spoiler, so the kit I was thinking of buying has everything but the spoiler . Just trying to get some opinions.

That's good, but to be fair, it's more likely that if someone likes it they will say that, but if someone doesn't, they may either say something nice just to be positive, or they most likely will not say anything at all.
I seriously doubt everyone who doesn't like ground effects will feel the need to come up and say so.
I would not put any credibility into comparing how many positive comments you get vs how many negative.
But, that said, it's up to the owner. If they are some sort of kit that's easy to remove, it probably won't hurt the sale too much.
