this is a thread where i get to say thankyou im in australia and have an 81 . recently my aircon compressor gave up on me so i went to my local chev parts store to get a new one. the new one was slightly different and i needed an adaptor kit which wasnt supplied. i couldnt get one here to be honest. i told of my dilemma in the tech forum and unbelievably a member chimed in and offered to drive to the parts store, dig up the part , pay for it, then send it to me . i of course offered to pay for the part and have it sent to me pay on delivery but this member would have none of that.the package is already in the mail . it is just an extremley nice effort to do this and i am very very lucky to have someone do this for me. i just wanted to say thankyou to rick for this and to the forum here as i use it alot and have never seen anything but genuine help and advice for everyone.

it makes me proud to have an american car .

Hey Rick, I have just a "few" things that I need too - should I PM you the list?

Nice act of passing it forward!

You have trouble getting things shipped into Alabama? I'll help you out.

Shane thanks for the kind words. I am always happy to try and help another forum member in need. We all have to stick together to keep these C-3's alive.

I've been on the receiving side of some of that CF generousity as well. There are a lot of good people here that are always willing to help a vette brother out. The C3 "vette club" is better than I ever imagined!!!

Yes I have had some very good experiences with Forum members both helping with parts and advice. We all share the same interest don't we, it doesn't matter where we live.

One of my very first posts here asked where to buy the center vent section for a 76 gauge panel. For some reason, this doesn't seem to be available from the usual catalogs. A forum member (kdf1986) mentioned that he saw one in a junkyard that day. He went back to the yard, picked it up and mailed it to me. He said to send the check when I had a chance. That really showed me what kind of people hang out here and I've tried to live up to his example ever since.
