Default Ecklers order

Hi folks
I ordered a part from Ecklers during the third week of Dec. I still havent received it, although I did receive confirmation that my card had been charged. They maintain that it has gone out, but no tracking number... Is it usual that something could take 5+ weeks to get to Canada?
Kind of frustrating.

I'd call them Monday and tell them your not to happy. Let them decide how they are going to handle it. I'd also advise them your going to advise your credit card company to take back payment. I only use Corvette Central, parts are always here in 3 days, 4 tops with no extra surprize charges for delivery or customs / taxes.
Good Luck

I live in NS and I placed an order with Eckler's on Dec 3. I called them at the beginning of the month and I was told it could take 6 weeks to get it. I wanted to tell them that they were full of ****. It arrived on Jan 16th with a Swedish Customs declaration on it. It somehow managed to get to Sweden on it's way to Canada. Bizarre!!!

I ordered some stuff Dec/1 and got it Jan/13 .Same thing a Swedish label on it.
Most of the stuff I order from Ecklers takes a few weeks to get to me.With this order taking so much longer I phoned them .They said they had a lot of calls on orders not recieved that were placed the begining of Dec.and they were going to replace them .The following day I phoned them to say I got my package they scratched my name off the list ,but didn't know ahything about the swedish label

Sounds like some of their mail ended up in a container to Sweden.

Maybe everything is being shipped directly from China.

It could be that they have some crazy drop ship thing going.

In our restoration shop we used to order stuff from Ecklers but more often than not there was a problem.(similar to what you describe).
After a while I began to call them "the sea of broken promises" and switched all our bussiness to Corvette America.

They really need to get their act in gear.It seems like their customer service is sometimes not in touch with the shipping dept,or their inventory list. I realise they are a big company and have a lot on their plate but come on.

And is it me or has anybody else noticed that by the time a new catalog comes out,the prices have already increased on a lot of items?????

Ecklers is probably no more than 6 hours driving time from my house. By UPS it should take no more than 2 days. But, it's Ecklers. The last time I ordered it took several weeks to get all my stuff. Hell, it didn't even come at the same time. I could've walked there and carried the crap home in a paper sack in the amount of time it took them. I try and steer my business elsewhere at this point.

I just spoke to customer service at Ecklers. They say that they have a new deal with FedEx for shipping and somehow, a container of thier stuff woulnd up in Sweden on its way to Canada and Australia. I'm not sure why you would put stuff going in opposite directions in the same container...perhaps there were two containers...

I'm in central Fl and deal with Eckler's often via both phone and email. I have nothing negative to say about them. It is absolutely normal for me to order in the morning and have the product delivered to my door the next day. I find that their customer service reps and sales people are good folks and I will continue to deal with them.

Doing a '73 resto and trying to maintain my '81 I find myself dealing with a lot of suppliers large and small. I find none of them have the time to keep the customer informed, but are very pleased to take our money .This I think is a sign of the times in general. As an example. On Dec/10 I placed an order with a supply house in Indiana ,on Jan/21 I phoned them inquiring as to the where abouts of my order ,they informed me it was sent out Jan/18 .It takes them over 6 weeks to get the order out and I have to phone them .What is wrong with this picture???they did however to debit my account the same day as my order was placed.
To sum up ,some are better then others depending on the day. What can we as consumers do? Suck it up and hope they don’t use UPS One company I will never use again is Virginia Vettes .The mans name is Dick Barron and his first name describes him well.
CANADIAN GUYS …I have had a lot of success dealing with Brad at The Vette Shoppe near London Ontario .He has a small shop and vette graveyard ,very informative ,has the time to talk and best of all ships from Canada .Try him and form your own opinion .
519-423-1967 tell him you got his name from Don from Kingston.

Did it ship UPS/FedEx? If so, it is probably stuck in customs somewhere. If it has been this long, and it is something someone liked, some from Customs probably already has it.

I'd as them to re-ship.

Opened a brand new catalog the same day I got it and checked against prices online, it was already behind. Inflation moves faster than they can print I guess.... I dont order much from them anymore, quality has become an issue.

Maybe that’s why their brokerage fees to to Canada are so high !!

That is one of the reasons I order from Corvette Central and not Ecklers, 3 or 4 days max with no surprises, delivered each time by the same UPS guy at 10:30 AM, tracking system works great I mean I can even predict when the package will arrive. My Ecklers orders used to take 2 - 4 weeks. I mentioned to the Ecklers people and they said once it leaves our warehouse we are at the mercy of FedEx. Yea Sure!! Just remember nothing is perfect.

Never had any trouble getting Ecklers orders quickly, but then again I'm only about 150 miles away from their headquarters.

I will have to say that in the States, my Eklers order only took a few days, including backordered/out of stock items.

Only thing I did not like is that they shipped Fed Ex home, not the regular ground, so Fed Ex showed up at my business on a Saturday when we are closed.

I left a not for FedEx and they left the package by the back door. I picked it up after I saw from the tracking info that it had been delivered.. Very efficient, both FedEx and Ecklers IMO..

I tired but could not resist posting in this thread. Canadian customs can take a few days... but not weeks.

Ecklers...i ordered a catalog 2 months ago...(7 weeks ago actually)(slightly exxagerated). Still havent seen it, goes to show how serious they are about selling products, in my opinion...

Corvette central and ZIP have been really quick to ship to Canada...brokerage fees are a whole different story...

I called this morning to inquire as to whether my package had gone to Sweden with the rest and low and behold, the package was waiting for me when I got home. 7 weeks and no stop over in Sweden.
