Power Window Help
My '77 driver side power window does not work. The window still provides resistance and will stay up on its own, however it can be pushed down and pulled up with a light amount of force. When the window switch is activated, the motor can be heard running. The ease of movement makes me think that the window is still running on its tracks and the fact that it is staying up leads me to believe that the regulator is still functioning. Are these correct assumptions? I think either the gear box is stripped, the motor isnt engaging the gearbox or the motor doesn't have enough umph to raise the window. What do you guys think?

I'm getting ready to tackle that gremlin soon myself! I've got major shoulder surgery coming up so I've got to take it easy, though.
You're going to have to take the door panel off and watch the mechanism for yourself. I'm pretty sure the regulator gear is stripped = as is mine.
I've been told by a few member's posts it's not a big deal to relace as long as you follow their directions. I'll try to find some tomorrow.
