First, let me introduce myself. I live in west Houston and recently purchased a 1976 corvette which will require a "little..." work. I appreciate any help I can get as I work my way through the car. My first of many questions...
I need to remove my headlights for restoration and ease of other body work in the areas. I have three manuals and only one of them details the removal of these assemblies. Basically, they say that the headlight assemblies can be removed whole (including the actuators and support structure). However, the documentation skips how this is actually done. I removed the supporting bolts (three in back and two in front) and the vacuum hoses. The assembly is loose, but I do not see how it can possibly come out whole. Before I start disassembling them in the car, has anyone removed them whole? If so, is there any trick to getting them out?
