Default T-Top Trim removal

Just removed my T-top trim today prior to paint, not sure if it's going to be able to be put back on after paint without chipping? Has anybody successfully put it back on after painting without a big hassle? Almost thinking about installing it prior to the paint job.

The side piece is easy to get back on the top panel. However the front piece is much more difficult to put on without damaging the new paint. The fellow who painted my panels wanted the front trim left on and he feathered the paint into the trim so there wasn't a paint build-up at the edge of the trim. This was a painter who believes cars should be COMPLETELY apart for the best paint job, he wasn't looking for the easiest way.
Regards,
Alan

I did the trim removal then paint on my car.

Just be sure that you do a little bit more clear sanding on the edge/lip.

Then take your time slipping it back on.
Remember that the factory lacquer paint is relatively thin compared to base/clear or single stage.

I like it better off before painting - gives it a better finished look when done.

my 2 cents ..
