Paint schemes, 72 Vette
I've had my 72 convertible since buying it off the showroom floor way back when I was a callow youth. It was red, now being restored and re-painted. Never did like the red and thinking about black with a bit of gold trim. I know, I know, I'm supposed to keep it original...but humor me. Are there any websites with photos of various color combinations?
Mine has about 160k miles, put on it in the first 3 years, rebuilt the engine about 5 years ago, now taking care of all those little scuffs and dings.
When its completed, I'm getting in it and disappearing.
Thanks for any input.

I think you should re-paint it red, but it's your choice.
Enjoy

This is my 70 convertible. There were no black corvettes in our years so, I made my own. If you like black, by all means, make it black.
It took a while to get back to this site, and I haven't figured out how to navigate it yet, but there seems to be a lot of information on it to cover just about any subject.
My '72 convertible, bought new, is being worked on by the son of the guy who worked on it 25 years ago. He's pretty talented, and I'm hoping the finished product will be beautiful. The price, however, is awful. So far, it's up to about 10G.
It was rusted under the radiator, in front of the radiator, under the glass, had new windsheild and top frame, replaced original exhaust configuration from side pipes, all the dings, cracks, scuffs...The rear deck support on port side was rusted loose. All new rubbers...
If I can figure out how to post a pic, I'll do it.
Thanks for the input.
