On my 74 on the tops there is a metal frame with 3 phillips screws that the weather strip sits in or is part of the original weatherstrip, mine was so shot that I could not tell. Does the replacement weatherstrip just go in between this metal strip. Or do you remove this piece for replacing the weatherstrip ?
Pretty sure that the new WS goes into the frame/channel.
Just be sure to clean it out with WS adhesive remover before putting the new WS in.
Corvette Rubber sells the BEST reproduction t-top WS I have seen so far. They are molded from real NOS molds ad are a darn great fit. They don't leak like the Softseal WS.
After you install the WS you may need to adjust the t-tops to seal against the pillar post WS and window correctly.
