Suggestions for chassis / underside paint
I want to tidy up the underside of my vette - It is really pretty clean with the original paint still clearly visible but with the odd stone chips , scratched etc on it . There is at worse only very light surface rust where the scratched /chips are and I figured now is the time to re-coat to protect things before any real rust sets in.
So I want to brush paint - with the car still intact (not body off or anything like that ) not spray or rattle cans as I don't have the equipment to spray and dont want to deal with the overspray problems.
I have heard of the whole POR stuff but understand that you need to overpaint to protect from UV . I have also seen some stuff called Chassis Saver that was brushable and looked really good in the samples I saw (surprise!!) . Has anyone used the Chassis saver stuff , comments , pics etc . I read on the website that it too is altered by UV but only in that the color fades from black to charcoal grey and that its protection properties are unchanged - anyone experience the color change ? How much UV would the underside be exposed to anyway?
Any other brush on paints that anyone wants to suggest is also very welcome - I am just looking to stop any existing rust in its tracks and to protect what I have.
