I would agree with Stan as well. Have used Bill Hodel and John Pirkle also.
Stan, are you going to the Spring Vette Fest? It looks like we will have a wonderful display of '70 LS-6 and '71 LS-6 Corvettes. I think Al Wagner is bringing his Sunflower yellow coupe and a Classic white convertible LS-6 Corvettes. I think Jim Wallace's old Steel Cities gray coupe will be there, as well as possibly his Mille Miglia red convertible LS-6 'vette. I was invited to bring my two, however I'm not sure what the cost would be to transport both back and forth to this event, but I will be there promoting these cars. Are you coming out?
I saw your post about this in another area of the forum... I really wish that I could go as it sounds like there will be some really neat cars in attendance. Just too much going on right now and have plans to add garage construction into that mix.
In related LS-6 news, Bob Priest stopped out a couple weeks ago to look at my car and take some photos to be used when he restores his (he bought the Warbonnet yellow/saddle coupe out of Latrobe, PA - still can't believe that car was right down the street from where I used to live). We talked a bit about the Camaro that I have for sale as well although I think he was more interested in looking at the Corvette.
In regards to the restore...good on ya, just checking, smile. Needless to say, sure looks like a fun project
No prob... To be fair, I probably get two calls a week on that car. I found out that there are a lot of guys in the market for LS-6s... They just don't make a whole lot of "noise" in the open market. Warren probably has a better idea of who's looking as he keeps a closer eye on the LS-6 Corvettes than I do, but being an owner, you still hear quite a bit.

I spoke with Kevin in Dallas, TX a few weeks ago and he mentioned that the ZR-2 at the Barrett-Jackson auction was purchased for a customer.
I recently had my 75 Smog pump rebuilt by Bill Hodel out of OHio. He was recommended by John Pirkle. He'll do a great job for you. He also has extra date coded stuff. He can be reached at 330-832-0871
Here is my 69 with an ALT from John and some A.I.R. parts from Bill. Both quality guys to deals with.
The Chevy VetteFest is putting together a special display of 1970 LS-6 Chevelles and 1971 LS-6 Corvettes.
This display is coming together nicely. We have 5 '71 LS-6 Corvettes and around 12 or so Chevelles.
I will be submitting information about the differences in these two engines as they were used in these two models. A storyline will be written to explain the differences between these two models that both utilize the RPO code LS-6, but with vast differences in the engine assembly.
I will be hanging out with the LS6 crowd on Fri, Sat & Sun.

Thanks Warren Sounds like a great event... seems by your input above (regarding trailoring) and Rowdy...that the event is not in Cali? If you have the storyline within you puter...sure would appreciate a copy! Thanks in advance Muddy
As Warren mentioned, the event is held in Chicago twice a year; March and November if I recall correctly. Judging classes split into two groups... One for Chevys, the other for Corvettes with those classes broken down into restored and modified classes (at least that's how it was done several years ago).
Top award is what Chevy/Vettefest refers to as their Gold Spinner award. Pretty neat looking award if I may say. For Corvettes, it is also the third leg of the "Triple Crown" which is attained by Corvettes that receive a Gold Spinner and have previously attained a Duntov award through NCRS and Gold Certification through NCCB. Basically, the best of the best.
I ran my 1969 L-78 Nova through several years ago. Great car, did really well (think it lost three points out of one thousand). I wasn't impressed with the guys who judged it though... They really didn't know a whole lot about Novas (pretty sure they were Camaro guys and a bit out of their element). The Corvette judges are superior in my opinion. These are the same guys you see at NCRS and NCCB judged events and their level of knowledge is second to none.
Very good show with lots of interesting cars. I'll eventually have the LS-6 out there... Just not this year.
It looks like the five Corvette LS-6's will be Jim Wallaces old '71 Steel Cities gray coupe he put together after buying it from John Meissenger off e-bay (new owner in the Chicago area), Al Wagners Sunflower yellow coupe, Dwight Tedballs Classic white convertible that he recently sold for 250K, Jim Wallaces Mille Miglia convertible and Steve Hodges old Ontario Orange coupe, earliest known example and magazine test car in Car and Driver & Car Craft magazine.
It looks like Jim, Al & I will hang out together some. Sure looking forward to seeing the cars and having a good time!
The only picture I have is the one that was featured in the Excell Auction catalogue, that it was consigned in last June 10, '07.
I do have copies of the paperwork for that car. It is Classic white w/dark saddle custom interior. Ordered as M22, MA6, 3:08 drivetrain. Other options include A85, C05, C07, J50, N40, U69.
The car has original Corvette Order Copy and original Canadian window invoice as docs.
Car has dealer installed luggage rack on decklid.
