I just took a look at this page, wow I didn't realize the extent of the work you've been putting into this car. I must have missed the previous posts. Looks great. One thing to check while you dial in the rotors is the area around the old rivet holes and the back of the hats. Even with new rotors you may have some raised metal and there is usually some distortion at the rivet holes on the hub and flanges. Use a 2" die grinder and 100 grit disc to touch those surfaces.
Good luck with the final assembly, see if you can make our show in guilford CT at Moroso in July.

But when I pull the rotors off during shimming I will be sure to pass some 100 grit on the surfaces. and I'll be sure to remove the straps on the springsHammadown
I found a COMPLETE set of 1980 seats on this forum..(THANX,VETTE CRAZY ) AND went at it I stripped and painted the frames black ,and ordered NEW mounted 100% leather covers and foams. but when it came time to mount the tracks to the frames I didnt know what to do either way I had to modify a pair of tracks (mine or the 80's) so i did mine. all i had to do was fab up 4 pieces to mount the frames to my tracks and bend my adjustment rods straight. I also want to thank..(SWEETHENCE) for his imput even though iI didnt do what he did. the only reason I didnt do it like him was that I didnt want to do all the trimming to the seat frames and i wanted to keep the angle up higher in the front of the seats like the 80's seats. thats why i added the pieces to my 72 tracks
the track on the right is the stock track

. As most of you know this PYPES system was very troubleing to say the least
this system is NOT a direct bolt on for 68-73 cars. it also didnt help that I got the wrong downtubes and mufflers and the left rear pipe was sooooo far off it would make you cringe
after pypes sent me a new pipe things got better but not great. still had to cut the right side pipe to even things off and I had to modify the left tail tip to center it inside the rear besel
ONLY if pypes did a mark up on a 68-73 and thats what it 's going to take to make this system CORRECT

tips are not mounted yet...... I will not be using the clamps, the tips will be welded to the mufflers

modded tip

forgot to mention........both tips were modded to accept 2 1/2" pipe as stock tip pipe is 2"" but the left need to be moved over further. AGAIN.......... if pypes built this system on a 68-73 this would not be an issue!!!!!!!!!!
