The engine compartment and undercarriage will look sweet when you are done. you will be finished just in time for the good weather.

Looks great! All the pics are a great reference source for the rest of us. Are you doing a full NCRS resto to be judged? I ask only because you're using a rear leaf spring instead of a composite spring?
Keep the pics comming!

Not to rain on your parade but I just wanted to warn you that you must keep the Pypes system clean and dry or all your polishing work will be wasted. Because of the grade of stainless, if the system gets wet or is in a very humid invironment, the nickel content will rust making the pipes look rather ugly. Sorry, I'd rather tell you now than later. Most owners that are doing cars as nice as yours are painting their exhaust system. It's not as pretty up front, but it stays looking the same for longer. However, if you don't mind getting under their and polishing once a show season, then you're fine.

Thanx's for the replys while I am not going for the ncrs type resto ......I am trying to stay AS ORIGINAL as possible But I am doing a few custom things to suit my style I upgraded to 79/82 seats, aluminium intake, aluminium water pump, cast aluminium valve covers (LT1 style) 2 1/2 pypes exhaust and a 200r4 tranny upgrade leather wraped steering wheel and i will be putting on 17" wheels. While I wouldn't call it a frame off restoration it is quite extensive the interior was/is in perfect condition and the frame is 90% restored/refinished the other 10% is covered by the body so it couldnt be refinished. All the body mounts are in great shape and I am NOT pulling the body at this time to do it I am doing a complete suspention and brakes replacement/restoration, engine repainted with added new parts minus rebuild and the engine compartment has been refinished. And after I drive it for the summer I will be painting it back to 988 STEEL CITIES GREY
Tranny came in today and the engine is back in

All you had to do was remove the bolts that hold the body to the frame and raise it up an inch to say "Body off Frame Restoration".

Seriously, that work looks great. You will be very proud driving that to shows for sure.

Looking good!

I love the look of new and/or reconditioned parts!

Yours is already looking better than mine, and mine is in one piece.

Default Update: steering box rebuilt by: Gary GTR1999

Contacted Gary: GTR1999 To get my box rebuilt . He hads alot on his plate at the moment, but he got me fixed up in a JIFFY
He got my box last Monday and it is on the way back to me as I type !!
I did need new gears and I did purchase a new rag joint also. With all the work and new parts and Garys rebuild, this car should steer/handle like NEW if not Better

Cant wait till it arrives as this is the last major component I needed to get this car finished and back on the road
Once again THANK YOU, Gary GTR1999
