Chris,
I believe they are stainless steel like the 2 license frames. They are a slotted head in an unusual shape.... a large head, similar to a round head that has been flattened quite a bit, but not the shape of a more usual 'pan' head. Perhaps someone will post a picture for you.
Regards,
Alan
Yeh I paid $20 on Ebay for four. They are original but after wiring off the rust can't tell whether they were painted or chromed or whatever and this is something that shows if it is not correct.

Stainless doesn't rust, I believe they are silver cad.? Also I think the originals do not have pointed tip. I stand to be corrected WB
The ones on my 68 were "white" (white cad or tin??) platted. My 70 appears to have black colored.
(These are big diameter slotted screws with a built in flange). Anyone knows where to buy some duplicate repro screws? I've been able to buy the big diameter slotted screws but they don't have the built in flange.
