Did you think '55 Chevys all had to have mirrors on both sides?

Or 1933 Fords all had to have seat belts?

Think about it.

I have a '74, it does not have a mirror on the passenger side. I believe it was an option back in the day.

true story:

reason 56911, why I will never live in Massachusetts again

In the mid 70's I had a Dodge Dart Swinger (cool car btw), and it didn't have a passenger side mirror. So I bought a set of bullet mirrors which replaced the drivers side and I drilled 2 holes and mounted the other on the passenger door.

Of course, some jackass in Lynn decided he wanted to rip off my new mirrors, and in doing so, made fat pimply holes removing them with his hands.

So I hammered down the mini volcano holes on the driver door and put the original back on and said the hell with the passenger side.

Come vehicle inspection time, I get a REJECTED inspection sticker. "Why?" I ask the inspector. The response is... "it's missing the side mirror, see the holes?. "

When I explain the story, the inspector guy just says.. "yeah right kid" Which means I have to go buy more mirrors.

reason 54997:

Had a VW beetle with a baja kit. Lynn inspection (different one) = REJECTED.. because the fronts of the wheels are exposed (I point out the owners CJ5 with exposed fronts.. no avail. Had to go to Boston for a waiver.

reason 61779:

REJECTED: after market side exhaust bought in a Lynn speed shop are illegal unless it's a 69 Corvette. wtf.

M a s s h o l e s. never again. (and I was born there)
