I have the original 350 L-82 that came in my 73. I have an opportunity to get some new Edelbrock Heads (part # EDL-2098) for a small Chevy, 410hp, w/hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters, as well as an air gap manifold, would then install 750cfm carburetor(part # 1407) all at a great discount, over20% all new. The horse power is very low for these years as you all most know; do you think I’m messing with the “originality” of the car or any other issues I’m not aware of?

Just keep the old stock heads, and don't make any changes that you can't undo later. Originality only matters to two people. First, it matters to you. Second, who, if anybody, you ever sell it to. If you don't care that the numbers don't match then the added performance is a great thing. If you're all about the value and the sale price later, then keep all the stock parts and plan to sell them with the car to keep it more original.

Yup, if you want to enjoy driving your vette now, with some hot aftermarket parts, than thats what you should do. Take the old stuff off, clean it, cover it in oll, seal it and store it in a dry place. Then enjoy the vette.

Tag and bag all the original parts and go for it . You'll be glad you did it.
