Default selling issue

Just a friendly warning to be careful when you purchase stuff via other members. I bought some switches from c3 in hawaii and sent him a check. He cashed the check and said the switchs were mailed out on the 5th. I still have not got them yet. It may or may not be his fault, but I am just letting everyone know to be careful. There has been a lack of communication from him and he will not respond when I ask him to check on the box. I have bought and sold to a few members here and I am a good person as far as that goes. Those people know that. Thanks

Careful. These threads usually go bad fast.

If you mean the 5th of this month, then you probably have nothing to worry about. I have had packages take two weeks just to get up into Canada and some get stopped at the border and held until they know what's in the box. It's hard to get information on international shipping once it's gone so he may not have any news for you.

It may not be his fault and his lack of communication is indeed an issue but it's between you and him. Have you asked for basic information like tracking or even carrier? You can do the leg work if needed.

Not getting on your case...you have every right to be worried...but give it time. I would hate to see the seller's name get dragged through the mud, and then the switches show up safe and sound a few days later.

ebay stuff I've shipped to the Islands usually takes a week USPS Priority

and for all those sellers who pull shipping outa their *****, the rate is the same as shipping it to California.

I am not trying to smear anyones name, just throwing it out there for concerns sake. If they were to show up, I would let everyone know and I can come out looking like a a$$. I know what carrier he is using but nothing else. I havent heard from him. Maybe this will get his attention? My check got to him in like 3 days though, I do know that :P

I Understand. It just drives me nuts when people try to save a buck by shipping to/from AK,HI and PR sending stuff parcel post . It's 8.50 to ship a flat rate Priority box to Hawaii, Alaska, Vermont, NY, Puerto Rico....

and the box usually arrives in less than a week to AK,HI and PR and 2 - 3 days in the contiguous states.

Gumby - I have dealt with C3 in hawaii & have had good dealings. Granted, you want your items, but this stuff is for fun. If he shipped it - it is out of his control. Not responding is something else

I agree with you DB for sure but internationa shipping and delays wouldn't apply here as Hawaii is in the continental US. I do agree too that the fact that he doesn't reply is a problem but hopefully this will get straightened out ASAP.

I have yet to dea lwith forum people, not opposed it it but if I had my choice...I'd try to deal locally to avoid such a problem.

I'm not sure how shipping with various carriers is affected...but I am sure that Hawaii is not in the continental US.

Default A little OT

I have noticed a lot of “last chance before it goes to e-bay” posts on this forum and because I have to much time on my hands ,I follow some of them to E-bay.Selling for much less.On e-bay you at least have options if you don’t receive your packages.Should something go wrog on this forum ,well……..
Awhile ago a seller on the forum was misquoting store prices to suit his own needs (example Corvette Americas price $42.89 when it was really 21.99) I corrected him a few times ,he reported me to a moderator and my corrections posts were pulled for Interfering With Sale. What about the members he was tryng to scam?
In Gumby86’s case anything could have happened but give the guy a chance to air his concern without crucifying him ..A week from now it will be forgotten by most any how.

I agee with Durango Boy

If shipping by USPS , they have no way to track progress, They only verify delivery.

Also he may not have read your or seen your inquireies yet.

I go days sometimes with out looking at the forum.

I hope you get your stuff, but I suggest in the future pay for UPS or FED EX and get a tracking #, that could have given you the answers you need in this case.

I'm glad it came in Gumby, I bought two items from the member in question and had no problems what so ever, I'm glad things worked out.

I am glad you received your stuff, but I disagree with your method here. If you truly only wanted to warn other members, you don't throw the guy under the bus from the start. If I were c3 in Hawaii, I would still be upset simply because everyone remembers the bad news much longer than they remember the retraction.

Well thanks for clearing my name, and glad to see that it finally made it in.. But FYI to you and all forum members, I have been in contact with you on this and have the messages saved in my inbox, also my sent messages.. so I was keeping in touch with you on this situation and would have been more than happy to return your monies if you never received it.. $25 is not worth skipping town on..

I agree. I don't think you get to say "I wasn't trying to ruin anyone's name" when you posted the guys name and complained. It seems every one of these postings that seem to be because of an impatient buyer turns out like this.

It's actually a good example of why all the ebay sellers are up in arms and actually boycotting the feedback changes over there. Quite often buyers behave like this and now the sellers have no recourse after the fact. Similar to what Kevinator says, it's tough to unring a bell.
