I feel the whole satin paint job thing is just the "in" thing right now, I have used some of the Hot Rod flatz paint for smaller things like wheels and motorcycle parts and it came out great, but I think in a couple of years you may get tired of the flat look. Not to mention that painting and maintaining a "flat" pait job is difficult, you cant polish it, or buff out scracthes as you would change the finsih in that one area.
I think doing the car with a gloss finish with say a flat stripe or graphics would look pretty good, but as for the whole car flat, I would leave to the street rod or rat rod crowd.
A satin silver might end up coming out looking like primer, which is no fun. Like lvrpool32 said, satin/flat finishes seem to be in right now and you might end up getting sick of it in a few years.
