Just took them off

Drivers

the worst part

Suggestions?

I was told some leather softener and saddlesoap (??? apparently my grandmother has it) would fix it right up. Im not really counting on that

edit

this is just from a quick rubdown with a softener and some leather repair material i dont really know what it is

but for a few bucks it looks and feels soooo much better

No leather product will help, I'd re-die the seats one of those colors. or you can get new covers.

I just switched mine out as the driver's seat looked like this. I tried dye first, Glass act is right it made the color uniform but the creases and cracks still showed and I'm a bit of a perfectionist on this kind of stuff. I don't know of any product that will make these look close to new again.

Here's how my replacements turned out.

Dye may not hide the age cracks, but will make them look much better. The red color is worn through to the under color, dye them and I'm sure you will be happy with the result.

Look on one of the Jaguar sites. There are some kits that are good restore/dye that include some leather softeners. The cracks will always be there, however some of thoes kits claim to lessen the hardness of the cracks. Cant hurt to try; the worst that could happen is you would need to replace them if you don't like the result.

Agree above. Soften them and dye them. They will have some "history" and "patina", but that is what gives some cars character. You should see my '67 Morgan! Perfection and new isn't always best, for an old car.

Top this for a "bad" seat bottom.

Just replaced seats in my '88.

The black leather in my '71 still looks good.

Those seats are not too bad. Buy some lexol products and soften them up then some dye to conceal the cracks. They will never look new but you can get them to look much better. If you want new buy new seat covers but done sit in them because they will look used before long.

Just be aware that dye for leather is a different product than dye for vinyl surfaces. Google some info on leather dye and where to get it.
