Default Destroyed my front window.

Found that my front window was cracked. So i decided this is a good time to remove all birdcage rust.
But my problem is where to buy a new window. cant find at ecklers or corvette central.

Any recomendations?

Default Front windshield ??

Any shop that replaces auto glass would be your best bet, but I bet it'd be pricey considering you are in Norway. Good luck, Peace,,,Moosie

Wow even it you find it over here in the U.S. Can you imagine the risk of shipping that big piece of glass to Norway? Good luck buddy - I've seen the way UPS treats packages, it aint pretty!

Ask Panic, he's in europe, and probably has a handle on some 'Vette clubs in the area, that way you can avoid shipping it by air.

Paragon

corvette-paragon.com

Part 5886 1968-74 Non-dated windshield $235
Part 5887 1968-74 L.O.F logo and date. Specify date. $430
Part 5888 1975 to 1982 Non dated $225
Part 5889 1975 - 1982 LOF logo and date. Specify date. $430

All 1968 to 74 are available clear or tinted. 75-82's are all tinted.
I think the tinting is just along the top edge.

Those $235 windshields may be repro, if so the glass may be thinner than stock. The $430 windshields are probably from the original manufacturer made to GM specs.

Thank for the responce.
In norway th price will be 1000us+
But offcorse there is a big risk in transportation.
I will have a look around, and see i someone nerby is going to transport a whole car ore something. Then i can put the window in the same container.

Here in Thailand I brought my original to a auto glass shop and they made one that is perfect including the black at the bottom, cost $300.

They can copy almost everything.

Nope, sorry. They are repro parts made to modern standards by a specialty manufactuer. Nothing to do with LOF og GM. They are usually detectable during judging, not really worth the extra bucks.

How do you reproduce a windshield??? I thought you had to have a very expensive steel mold to shape the heated and softened glass.

No mold needed just the original front or rear glass and a torch. The side windows are difficult as they are tempered glass, no one here can reproduce them yet.
