Default 72 pulls to the left

Although I have had a full front end alignment done (after rebuilding everything in poly), my 72 pulls a bit to the left.

What could be the (most common) root cause?

Is it a wrong (uneven) toe-in? Or two different cambers?

Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Thomas

One issue I had with my '76 doing that was my rubber brake lines had collapsed internally causing just enough pressure on one caliper to cause it to pull to one side. Just a thought.

First thing to do is check air pressure. If both fronts are equal, then try swapping them. If the pull goes to the opposite side then you've got a bad tire. I've encountered this problem several times and found it to be a bad tire every time.

Was it done receintly? Go back to the alignment shop and have the person who did the job go for a ride with you. Then they will have a better idea of what needs to be adjusted.
Also check tire pressure as others have said.

Could be a bad tire (belt slip)...try swapping front tires from one side to the other and see if it pulls/wanders the opposite way.

If you have PS, check the steering control valve adj'.
Jack up the front wheels', turn on the engine and see if the steering doesn't turn to the left.

I've had a brake caliper piston get cocked and cause a slight pull.

Great thread

I've had the same problem with my 77. Had a slight pull to the left and found a bad lower ball joint. Rebuilt front end with poly bushings and Moog balljoints and a new set of Goodyears. Still have a slight pull to the left. Gotta be a sticking caliper?

I had a tiny leak in one front caliper. The leaking brake fluid lubed the brake disk so that brake didn't take before the fluid was wiped off by braking. It was most uneven when I had driven for a while without braking. This made the car and steering wheel pull towards the side that did brake properly.
