We have to smog bi-anually...unfortunately,the state stopped the 30 year rolling exemption in 2005...otherwise,I would be exempt with the 78 starting this year...as things are now, every car 1976/newer must smog test...1975/older are exempt...

Rich, I might have one 624 head that needs a home (other of pair was cracked between I/E valves on middle 2 cylinders). Will check to verify # in a while and get back to you if you're interested.

BTW, did they just extend the 25 that other semasan states have to 30 or actually freeze the cut off year?

edit - Yes, I have one good #462624, bare.

They froze it in March 2005...so 1976/newer are shafted and have to smog test bi-anually from now on..
Re your cylinder head: Does it have guide plates?? Because adding them is a bit of risk depending on experience of machine shops...I'm looking for at least one original #462624 cast head with factory guide plates...tough going right now...I have time,as this repair with 882 cast heads has worked out great...thanks a bunch...

Orig off my SA's L82 (cast E318 / May 31, '78) which I sold when I BigBlocked it, but it's completely bare. I'll probably list it in the near future so it can find a good home, as I don't have any use for it now. Sorry it wasn't what you're looking for...
