Default Passed Smog...!!!

Was tested today...have 135,555 miles on original L-82...went to change valve seals, and discovered cracked head..so got another set of heads and had machine shop spiff them up..tuned engine....plus cleaned up engine,etc...

Congrats. I feel your anxiety- but now you've got it behind you for another 2 years. What heads did you buy? Do you still run the factory L82 cam? Any other modifications?

Original cam is still in engine...re heads,I put some 882 cast heads on for the time being while I continue looking for one 624 head with guide plates...like my original L-82...so instead of 2.02 intake valves, these have 1.94...
This way I can still drive it.....

My plan is to pull engine later and do complete rebuild or...slip a crate in..still deciding on that....if I rebuild,i may go with a LT1 grind cam,and some other simple mods (carb, etc) as I'm stuck smoging this vette forever..

You know, I spent some time in the area I was thinking about moving to, and was bored out of my mind. I'm a night person, so screw it, I'm going to Vegas. I was living there temporarily a few weeks back, and it was great, so I'm looking for a house now. Unfortunately, it looks like I may have to smog the Vette once before they give me classic plates. Not sure how I'm gonna pull that off...

Stupid question maybe but why are you stuck smogging it forever, is it just local to your locale cause I see where fauxrs2 says he's exempt this year and he shows a Kalifornia location ? By the way the car looks very nice Good work. Peace,,,Moosie

He likely means that he doesn't have to smog again until next year. Smog is every 2 years in most California counties.

Thanks for the invite, but I doubt I can make it. Have to go to a wedding () tomorrow night and probably won't be home until Sunday afternoon sometime.
