Default Radiator Support ?

I took my radiator support to the shop a couple of days ago to see about cutting out some rust and re-welding corners and the lower supports, then blast and powder coat. It's looking like it will be cheaper to just buy a new one based on initial reaction as this thing had been hacked on once before. I meet with the guys again on Monday morning for confirmation of whether it's worth repairing or not.

If I have to replace it there are a lot of vendors who show them and it looks like the price spread is only about $25. My real question is which one can I be guaranteed will fit. Given some of the horror stories I've read about "cheap" reproductions that don't fit well, I'm a little paranoid to be hung out on a $300+ part. Will be adding a new DeWitts Aluminum radiator at the same time to my '70 BB. If you have installed one in the past 3 months and it was a perfect fit, who did you get it from? Please do NOT slam any vendors, I just want to know who came thru for you.

Thanks.

I had the same dilemma when I had to replace mine. I went ahead and got a new one through Dewitt’s a when I order my aluminum radiator as well.

I'm missing it someplace...I've looked at Tom's site 3 times and don't see any supports in any of the sections.

Try Zip's. The piece I recieved fit perfectly and was nicely finished. Don't forget to replace the seals too.

I bought one from Paragon for my 70 about a year ago. It fit perfect and was just like the original.

Sorry about that, I didn’t realize they didn’t carry them anymore. I got mine several years ago. I know Ecklers has them, but they are usually pretty proud of their stuff!

Thanks Tom!
I've never heard of Keen. Do they sell direct or should I just be looking for their unit at one of the suppliers like Zip?

Default radiator support

I bought one from Corvette Central for my 73 and it fit perfect; the one I had in the car was jury rigged in and came from a later year. The one they said fit a 73 fit fine. I think it cost a little over two hundred but at the time it was about the same as other vendors. Good luck.

Thanks TomK. I'll go this route if I have to replace instead of rebuild.
