According to my literature 69 and 70 exterior color quantities were not recorded by the General. Unless someone chimes in with better resources than me.
Actually, the best we can do is estimate based on the popularity of the color in the previous years (2.5% in '68, 3.6% in '67, 4.3% in '66). We see the downward trend in popularity and can make the assumption that in '69 there were NO MORE than 2.5%, supported by the color being discontinued for a nmber of years = 969 cars or fewer in my opinion.
i was reading in one of the manuals after 68 that they didn;t paint black because the heat factor with the fiberglass created too many problems ,so you had to special order and car came in prime so the customer had the car painted black after he picked it up at his own expense
From: The reason time exists is so everything doesn't happen at once
I recall reading somewhere a few years ago that only about 700 black cars (code 900) were produced in 1969. Whatever it was it was a low enough number that GM didn't produce any more black Corvettes until 1977.

This is not correct. There were enough black cars from the factory produced to continue using code 900 (Tuxedo black). They were not special ordered in primer.
