Default 1974 LED Taillights

OK, so I've discovered there's a difference between '74 taillights and any other year.

Can someone explain the difference???

I'd like to convert to LED's but short of only bulb replacement, sets are made for pre '74 and post '74, but say they won't fit the '74.

Knowing what the difference is beforehand could make for a more intelligent decision to convert, on my part.

Many thanks in advance for your collective wisdom.

Steve

'74 tail lights are one year only and mount to tail lights brackets behind the bumper cover (but totally independent of the bumper cover). '75-'79 tail lights are mounted to brackets inside each tail light opening that are in-turn mounted through the bumper cover and to larger tail light brackets behind the bumper cover. '74 tail lights required reaching up behind for service, the later tail lights were removable with 2 screws inside each pod.

Fauxrs2 _ Yep, Fast Freddies is probably the best car show in town. I don't get over there much as it's on the other side of town, maybe two or three times a year. This weekend is the MDA show, which is "Big Time" for Roanoke. But not much when compared to real shows in other parts of the country.

Never could convince him to stock Guinness on-tap... but was a regular at that event when I lived there. Though back then it was a 72 camaro as my ride.
