This is for all of you where winter rules 5 months a year. After an unprecedented 5 days without snow, I decided to take my axe, sledgehammer and crowbar and excavate my way into my Garage, which due to snow has been inaccessible since early December. I am glad to say, that two pumps of the accelerator and she fired right up. Getting her to stay lit was another issue, but she saw things my way after a couple of attempts. So I stood and had a nice cigar and smelled the smells and enjoyed the sounds of my '79.
Snow tonight and all weekend here in West Michigan....but spring is coming. I can feel it.
I totally feel your pain. My '81 went from being bought in December straight to storage...I've driven her a total or probably 15-20 minutes total. I'm chomping at the bit!!
I feel your pain. Used to live on the North shore of LI NY. Winter sucks. Transplanted to GA...67 and sunny today, but then Saturday in the 40's with some snow possible. frickin GA weather....
I'm counting the minutes to nice weather! We've had over 3 feet of snow this winter in Chicago so the vette hasn't been fired up in months. I keep waiting for the roads to dry a bit so I can limp around the block. Everytime I get close, it snows another foot

At McHenry County College they've measured 69 inches.
I keep looking at mine under the cover in the garage as well, although i haven't had it started since put to sleep in late September. Two more weeks and spring officially begins, although that means nothing in Michigan.
Here in SW Wisconsin, hit all-time record for snow. Vette is trapped in garage behind & under much snow and ice. Overhead door literally frozen to ground w/ 3 inches of ice on both sides. 2 weeks ago I had to shovel 1 1/2 feet snow off house roof for fear of collapse. I hate winter!
I took mine out today!!! I even called out sick in work so I could spend some quality time with my '79. It was the first real decent day around here so I took advantage of the situation at hand. She fired right up, but will need some carb tuning - runs a little rich. But certainly good enough to spend all day cruising around in
79L48,
I've spent some summers in Holland and many in Manistee. I've only heard about your long, gray Winters. One year we had ice in the morning on June 10th. in Manistee.
Regards,
Alan
