Many thanks for the info & photos. I raised the rear end on my
72 LT-1 2 1/2". It was easy per your instructions.

Been having this very same issue. Ran a search and it brought me straight to this thread. Thanks again, guys! I'm going to give this a shot, and if it doesn't work, look into a new rear spring.

Would it be acceptable to slide a collar or a bunch of washers onto the bolt, then re-install the nut. Thus, pushing everything up by the height of the collar/washers. Otherwise, if the plan is to run the nut up further, you'll end up with all sorts of exposed threads hanging down waiting to get buggered up. This way, you could install whatever specific height collar over the bolt as you want to achieve for additional height. You could also undo it pretty easily. Or would this cause some sort of stress on the bolt?

Maybee I read the original post wrong but I thought he was concerned with the rear diff hitting, only way I know to raise ground clearance would be taller tires.

You might should be reminded that we're not dealing with a live axle here, rather an IRS diff which is mounted to the frame...
