New member here,i am in the process of buying my first vette, have owned a number of mustangs 66-67 ,before, making the jump to a real muscle car.I am importing to Ireland Europe.I have been in contact with cnv-corvettes in Tempe Phoenix Arizona, seem reputable, but has anybody any dealings or history with these guys. Its an L-82 400 1976,seems clean with a few upgrades to engine gearbox etc,any info would be greatly appreciated
Do a search. There was one guy here that bought, I believe it was a 71 that was not what they said it was. Be very careful with any of the so called dealers. I would try to have someone on the forum check any car out you are interested in, no matter where it is from.
Any car dealer is going to good and bad said about them. If they have 100 cars on the lot, does that mean they are all junk? I live by them and they seem ok, even though I have not had much contact with them, so I cannot confirm one way or another.

I've only read comments from other people in these forums about that company, but that post you just wrote might have been the most valuable forum post you ever wrote...
I Bought My 80 L82 From Them They Said It Was Serviced And Ready To Go Car Came Off The Trailer And Ran Like Crap Found Vacuum Leak On The Intake, Rear Main Seal Was Leaking And Rear Half Shaft Seal Was Leaking Car Was Serviced By A Blind Mechanic Ha Ha
I stopped by there once and the place is nice, but they are your typical vette flippers. They were trying to sell me a car that they didn't even own yet. You would have thought it was a driven by a little old lady. Low this, and rebuilt this, etc. etc. Like most of these dealers, your buying from a USED car lot. Shiney ain't always nice.
I lived in Phoenix for five years [until last fall] and have been to C'n'V many times...usually for parts, etc...and always looked over their lot cars. They have a lot of nice "looking" Corvettes there. Their forte' is getting a decent driver car and doing a great clean-up and polish job so the car looks really good. Then they put a huge price tag on it and look for a less-than-knowledgeable buyer. Their cars are decent...but overpriced. If you went there and dealt with them face to face and you knew your "stuff" {and they knew that you knew...}, you could probably swing a fair deal. Buying one overseas from C'n'V....I think not.
If CnV Corvettes is a little too risky for you and you start looking for another dealer, skip over uscorvettes.com. The owner is notorious for misrepresenting cars. I got ripped off by him big time when he was selling cars under the name "Unlimited Vettes" or "Corvettes Unlimited". Do a search on Michael Montrief and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Just wanted to let you guys who are looking for a corvette, stay away from CNV and there top sales person Tom Flannery. I bought a 1980 corvette from them Tom told me it was completely restored. I did this trans-action over the internet and then the phone. I got the car and when ity arrived, it would not start on the car carrier, I should have sent it back right there. The driver jumped started it, I took it home, did I mention it was delievered at nite as well. The next morning in the day lite I got a rude wakeup. The car had a cheap paint job, the interior was a poorly redyed mess. The rear main seal leaked like crazy, and last but not least it has an electrical short that drains the battery which I still cant find. Do not buy a car from these people they sell junk and stand behind nothing. One last thing I forgot to mention they changed the speedo to change the milage. I have since bought another 1980 corvette from corvette mike and it was everything they said it was and more, it also has a true 26,00 miles on it with original paint. You dont have to believe me just to ripoff report .com there is plenty there about cnv corvettes. BEWARE AND DONT BUY FROM THEM TAKE YOUR TIME BE PATIENT YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

Having been on this forum for many years, and having read much about C'nV', all sad stories, IMHO this post sums up it up.
