Default A/C to Header mount question

I'm putting new headers on and wonder how you mount the A/C to the new headers. Some bubba before me put on a long bolt with a whole bunch of nuts then what looks like the original bracket and another nut on it. It looks like kaka.

Usually when you buy headers, the header supplier can supply brackets for A/C, Alt, etc if they know what your putting the headers on.

You may be able to get them from Summit too.

Sounds like someone took the cheap way out, but like you said, it looks like fido's butt.

Good luck!

What year are you working on, for some you'll have to build or machine spacer(s) to achieve the same thickness as the original manifold.

Summit sells the part you need. Part # wlk88304. Cost is about $20 or so.

That's awesome guys! Thanks. I currently have a Turbo on my 1980 and I'm pulling it off next weekend. The piping was pretty crappy. I've got a new carb and manifold and Hedmen Elite ceramic coated headers. With all that clean and shiny stuff I'd hate to put the bubba solution back in there.

I went the option of using a short piece of pipe instead of shimming out the bolt with nuts. You could get a nice piece of stainless steel piple that should look great. When I installed my Hedman's on my 79, I have the bracket from Summit suggested above but couldn't figure out how to make it work and simply gave up. Maybe I had too many while I was attemping the installation?

I'm using the pipe, too.
