Default power window/power???

I am redoing the interior of my 77 when I removed the dash and console I see that there are wires that have been cut taped and just hanging doing nothing. The power windows work only if I run power from the battery to the red wire on the control. The wiring diagram shows a pink /black wire coming from the fuse block than to a power window relay with a orange /black wire going tp a 30 amp cirtuit breaker than to a junction block. Where are these??? I can not locate the relay the circuit breaker or the junction block. I am new to this electric stuff and can be looking right at it but do not know it. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

John,

welcome to the forum! First of all go here:

www.docrebuild.com

and buy the ooosooeasy wiring guides for your year specific car! This will save you so much time and headache!!! These show all the connections and wiring for the entire system. Best of luck.

John, just a suggestion since your redoing your vet consider a conplete dash wiring harness. My vett was big time BUBAsized when I got it so thats what I did. They are so easy with the color coding and if your dash and console are out its a snap. Just a though thanks.

Sully... Thanks for the tip. Doc Rebuild does not have the 77 model year wire diagram availiable.

Smg 2004... The harness looks pretty good it is just what is under the console. I guess I am a little scared to tackle the harness issue I am have enough problems with what I am now working on.

If the '77 is the same as the '78 then the breaker is located in the fuse panel at the upper left just below a flasher and the relay is just ahead of the heater control on the left under the center console.

That sounds like my 76 so the 77 is probably the same.

hey guys.... If any of you are doing a search for power windows, you might know already that I'm doing a manual to power conversion on my '75. To solve the hacked wiring problems on the '77 you won't need a full dash wiring harness, just purchase the power window harness from Ecklers or anyone else out there. It will give you the harness that connects to the fuse panel, everything from the switches to the relay, then to to the each of the operators. I have to say it went together like it had eyes. Everything was the exact correct length with all of the correct fixtures. They thought of everything, even knew not to put the connectors on the wires to the operators since they won't fit through the rubber door conduits....

The wiring harness won't include relays and breakers, but I think you can buy them separately if you need to.

Also, you said there was a fuse in the fuse holder for the power windows. I'm not 100% sure on this, but the complete kit I bought for my conversion has a 30 amp breaker that snaps into this slot just like a fuse. Don't know if a fuse would work differently or not, other then having to replace it every time it "popped".

Speed.... Thanks for the post! I have another thread out there asking for a view of the fuse panel and what you posted shows exactly what I need. You are the man!!!
