Tach malfunctioning
My tach in my '81 has an issue. It seems good at idle through just over 2K. As soon as the engine goes over 2K...it sticks in the one spot...and then if I really step on it, it will actually start going backwards and may even bottom out.
Suggestions on where to start??

'81 tach is electronic....there is a filter board which 'cleans up' the tach signal in the engine bay wiring (someone with an 81 will have to give you specifics). These are a cause of that problem, I believe. Do a "SEARCH" on past threads for repair details. {search for 'tach filter'}
