Thanks for all the great comments guys!, feels good hearing them from the Corvette Gurus!

Nice job Howard. How'd you get so far ahead of me?
Hey Ian, probably because I left my body & Interior intact rather than strip it to glass like yours so I was just able to drop the body back on the frame.

Looks great Howard! Hope to see it around town!
You can count on it!..probably won't make spring thaw in April but Three Hills for sure

How long have you been at it?
Bought the car March 2006 couldn't drive it due to frame rust so made my plans over summer started body off in October 06, so about 17 months. I had to take a little time off to clean up the "Honey Do" list but have put quite a few hours in.

...loved everything in the pics except that Fram Oil Filter. Those things belong on New York City taxi cabs-not Corvettes.
I had a full size Wix and it there was not enough clearance with the headers so I grabbed a short filter I had "in stock" . I will be dumping the oil after my cam breakin so I'll put a decent one on then

The snow shovel is in almost exactly the same place in the before and after chassis photos!!!!
Does Alberta= SNOW?

Actually we had a pretty decent winter out west this year...unlike those poor snowbound boys back east!

looking good Howard bet ya have it going this weekend better call for insurance!!!!
Hope to start it this weekend, the insurance appraisal came in just under 24k so I guess my yearly rate will be going up.

Could you tell us what the car cost and what you have in it now?
about this much I'm afraid to count the receipts

I fell into the trap many do when buying thier first Vette, I knew nothing of bird cage issues, rocker channels or trailing arms but one thing I did know for sure was it had to be a 69-73 , and a 4 speed

What attracted me to this car was that even though it had frame issues the numbers matched and it had the right options L82, 4 Speed and am-fm radio...no power options and it was the right color combo for me Blue-Green with dark saddle interior.
Also it had been adult owned since new so there was no 8-track deck jammed in the dashboard with 6" speaker holes in the doors
Thankfully I have worked on many cars and was willing to tackle everything to get the job done on my budget. learned a lot along the way. It has been a fun Journey!

In a word-awesome! In the before chassis pic the exhaust looks almost like 2" not the 2 1/2 inch L-82.

it actually had a mixture of both all bubba'd together.. I replaced it with the Corvette Central 2.5" system and Magnaflow mufflers.
I am anxious to hear what it will sound like with the new Exhaust and XE268 cam

Hey Howard,

I noticed you didn't change the coolant recovery tank. Did you try to source one? The reason I ask is that the new piece I bought from Zip doesn't fit. I'm wondering if you had the same issue.

The ones I had seen on cars at shows looked too white and seemed to look out of place. I thought I would leave the original washer and coolant tanks in for "petina" ..
I may change my mind after the repaint

I've been going through my catalogs and it doesn't look like I can get one. Turns out the one I bought is for a 74 which must be a different design. I didn't have the petina theme in mind when I started. I may have to rethink this.

Seriously - you did a great job.

NCRS or not - for sure to be proud of.

Once you'all are done, please post up some pictures of the finished car.

HWCOOP,
In Maryland we get what the weather men call 'Alberta Clippers'. Fast moving storms with very cold temperatures, wind, and a little snow.
I'll think of your garage picture now when we get them!
Regards,
Alan
