71 hood alignment
I installed a one piece front end. The factory big block hood is 3/8" low in the front center. The hood fit very well every where but in the center. Is this normal? To fill the hood that much would put a lot of filler in the hood. If I shim the hood hinges it raises the sides too high above the fenders. I can't think that bending the header bar above the headlights would be feasable.
Any ideas from any of the bright forum members?

I just installed a front clip on my 72. There is some adjustment on the center support rod. My car had a 73 clip on it and that center rod is different than a 72. It goes from the radiator support up to the header bar. The bolt hole on the support rod is slotted and I was able to get some adjustment in the center of the hood opening by pushing down or pulling up on the center part of the clip and tightening the bolt.

the install tech sheet that came with my ecklers one piece front end shows filler being used in several places to even the edges. if your're worried about separation around the filler, think abut using fiber glass. i had a similar problem with mine, and was affraid the filler would break loose from hood flex. my problem was that the surround was 1/4" low half way between the hinge and latch on both sides. i finally cut the glass on the surround where it drops down into the drip rail, wedged it up and glassed it in. turned out ok.
