Default Shoulder retractor bolt size?

Just finished retrofitting the '70 with F-body belts and now need bolts for the retractors by the rear wheel wells.

I've found they're a different size than the lap bolt belts....I've made 2 trips to Home Depot today and still dont have the right bolts...

Anyone?

On my 72 they are 1/2-13 bolts. I don't know if the 70 would be different.

I bought 1/2-13 and cant them started. They seem tight....I'll try the other side.

If there has never been a bolt in there it could be filled up with crude. The hole goes right into the wheel well and a lot of junk or rust could be built up in the hole. You might try to run a tap through the hole.

Try using a tap to clean the hole

I have some correct 1/2-13 bolts left over from a recent purchase if you need.

I only needed 1 bolt for the lap belt , but had to buy a set of 6.

they were used originals, just needed a wire brush.

I paid 3.00 each if you want 1 or 2

I cleaned out 37 years of carpet glue and crud and the bolts thread in.

David,

Thanks for the offer but I'm good in the bolt department. I ordered 4 for the lap belts from my local Chvey dealer yesterday.
