Does the top section where the weights, advance slot and rotor are come apart from the main shaft? I can't remember.
My distributor is allowing 42 advance with 12 initial due to the slot in the plate was doctered up to allow too much advance. I tried fixing by installing a bushing on the post but its not working. I'm trying to replace just the slotted plate or replace the whole upper portion. It's a tach drive points style.
If I remember correctly, the bottom plate with the slot may come off but not the top with the weights or vice versa, not sure.
The way I have fixed that was to braze the autocam plate slot to close it a bit then file it to limit the centrifugal advance. I have some tiny Nicholson files that make it look right after brazing.
I need a day to double check. What I saw Paragon offering was the plate that holds the springs/weights and has the cam attached. I need to check to be sure but I think I need the plate below that.
