Factory Correct Resto Section? Didn't even know that was there.
Most everyone would be guessing. If it has a part number stamped into it you could call a GM parts desk and see if they can look it up as an original part or a repro.
FWIW, my 69 rear filler had a V cut in the bottom center when I got the car. You could tell someone had done it outside the factory as it wasn't quite symmetrical.

About 4-5 years ago, there was a big shake up over in FCR. A lot of the guys (you remember 67heaven?) went to CAC. A lot of those guys knew their stuff.
I looked at my AIM for 1969, UPC N14 which is the option for side mounted exhausts. Sheet A5 on page J421 shows the valance PN as 3948133. If the AIM is correct, what you have is a GM rear valance for a 1969 with side pipes. The rear quarter panels are also special PN 3948135-6 and are straight where they otherwise would be cut out for the exhaust tips.
Mine also has the "V" cut under the license plate although it is not a side pipe car. I suspect the "V" cut is the way it came from the factory for '69. I'm 99.9 percent sure mine is original.

I hope this helps.
yup...3948133...thats the number stamped in mine. The v shape doesn't appear cut. It appears it was molded this way. Anyone else have pictures of theirs, on or off, their car?
I know this doesn't really answer the question at hand but this is a REAL 69 side exhaust filler panel on a 71 coupe. The part# on this panel looks like those that have been shown. There is also a row of little raised dots that may indicate the # of times the mold has been used, and maybe helps keep track of the panels for quality control.
And yes, it has that molded 'cut' under the license plate area.

Alan

Thanks...this one has the dots after the number 69. So your saying the one you pictured has the same type of "V" cut under the tag area as the one I pictured? The one I have does not appear like an individual cut it at a later date.
