Default Kick panel speakers??????????????

Does anyone now what size speakers go beneath the kick panels? I think they are 3 1/2, but can't remember and I threw out the old ones awhile ago. I am ready to put the interior in, but would like to get the speakers prepped first.
Thanks

My '69 had 4"x6" speakers in the kick panels. When I changed out the radio to an Alpine AM/FM w/CD player, I installed Boston Acoustic speakers of the same size. I had to fabricate some new mounting tabs, but it was pretty simple. The sound is far, far better.

Kick panel speaker loc. (77 measured) is about 5 3/4" H X 4" W X 2 1/4" D so 4X6 fit easily & 5 1/4 can be fitted. A mounting plate is needed.
Some 5.25 can be mounted in the kicks properly (solidly mounted w/ a plate) w/o mods to the kick panel. While one would normally want the tweeters near the primary front speakers, the dash location can work well for tweeters.

I disconnected the dash speakers in the 70s & recently removed them.

Kenwood eXcelon mask CD & 5.25 components in kick panels.
