My eyes were glued to the temperature gage the whole time. It was a fairly warm day and going up over the mountains it never got above 200F. Who knows what my gear ratio is and my tach isn't working and my hoses all need to be changed....which made it a little more adventurous. Plus part of the reason I was taking it that far was to get all the old gas out, which did have some water in it before we sucked as much as we could out. For the most part it ran OK, but it did have a few moments in the middle of no where where it would have been great to have you along. The number one concern right now is the front suspension. I have some spring questions I will email you about.

Glenn

All told,that trip in 2002 was 7,000 miles..over 4,000 on two lanes..

On the 78 it is 137,563...as of today...original engine...the 69 has 95,000,but only 21,000 on the 502...

Great pictures. I've lived in VA my whole life and never heard of Cluster Springs, where is it, other than off the Blue Ridge Pkwy? A lifelong dream of mine is to take a cross country trip in a restored Vette. Now that I've finally got my Vette, I need to find the time ( and the $$$). I'd like to take about a month to do it.

Cluster Springs is about 7 miles from South Boston,Va just off Hwy 501...population about 200...even have a post office...

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.117245&z=13

It's a blast road tripping in these vettes...drive the two lane highways as much as possible...better,cheaper food and without the dulldrums of the interstates..
