Hy guys,
I just wanted to know if someone did install this Power conversion kit of a C3 convertible car from 1975. http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette...=4.5896.618559
Is it hard to mount or is there something special to do?
Actualy, my manual steering is to heavy to drive in good condition that's why i'd like to buy this kit
Thank you all. Greatings from FRANCE....
The kit looks complete, except for the belt ... I didn't read the entire kit description, but it looks okay to me. Obviously, you can get that locally after final length measurements. You might be able to save some $ by purchasing a used pitman arm, relay rod, pump brackets, and cylinder bracket. Also, check into 'core charges.' If you can acquire a rebuildable pump, cylinder, and valve, you can get core credit cash back from many suppliers.
I would do this instead of having the slave cylinder hanging below the car, etc. Your current relay rod will work just fine, all you will need is the PS pump, bracket & V-belt, & pulleys. It won't even have to be the Corvette PS pump since the Jeep box will handle the higher line pressures generated by the normal Chevy pump. Now if you are going for that 'stock' look, then what you found will do the trick.

Do you have more detail ... pic or diagram ... of this configuration? I'd like to know which hoses to hook up and where, etc. Very interesting!
There is nothing wrong with the stock PS set-up. If you were going to drive the car in racing events, I would go for a "Jeep" steering box but, the factory set-up is really quite good and covered well in the GM service manuals. Living in a foreign country, I would consider the stock steering an advantage over a custom conversion. Because you need to buy a PS pump, brackets and other items with the "Jeep" box, this set-up is a good deal for you.
The easiest thing (if you are very lucky) is to find someone near you that really wants manual steering and is willing to swap systems with you. You will need the same type engine (i.e. big block to big block - small block to small block). That way your PS pump brackets and the pressure hose will swap right into your car. You need his relay rod and pitman arm.
If you have similar years and both have AC or both do not have AC you should be able to swap pulleys, belts, everything!
Otherwise, the Jeep gear and the Steeroid R&P is an option but you still will have to scrounge up the power steering pump, brackets, pulleys, and belts on your own.

Thanks for any additional input you can provide.
If you do an advanced search in the C3 Tech/Performance section on 'jeep box' you'll find a lot of info, especially from norval (search the archives also). The hose setup is the same as any PS setup, pressure line runs to the gear & return line back to the tank. Norval did his install from scratch, but the link I gave is a kit.
