ON MY 72 BB a so called mechanic squeesed the top rad. hose and it is very soft. not hard like some with the wire inside, anyway he said i better change it before it blows. he said its probably original but i doubt it because it is in excellent condition. question is should i change it and if so where do i get one that looks original with GM markings on it, thanks, nutsy.
The top side hose is on the "pressure" side and doesn't have to be rigid to resist water pump suction [like the lower one does]. Tell him "Thank you, It's just fine."

but if its very soft then its time to replace. Just for peace of mind I would replace it, its cheap insurance. I purchased all my hoses right from the local NAPA store. Or you can order from a vette vendor.
thanks everyone. does napas hose have GM on it? im guessing no since my heater hoses say napa. if not where can i get 1 with GM? RIHWOODS, thANKS, do these have GM on them, im trying to keep as original looking as i can, thanks. 7T1, thanks, i didnt know that.
Though you can't see the entire hose, I got mine from Volunteer Vette Products.
I doubt any hose you get from NAPA will have a "GM" logo on it.
THANKS ALL FOR the info where to get this and i agree this is one nice engine bay, i see you even got the original type hose clamps. thanks for pic, nutsy.
