Are we talking about the chrome plated trim that surrounds the headlight to keep it in place?
Yes it can be Tig Welded but what part needs to be welded and is the chrome plating still on? Are you concerned about the cosmetics? Do you have any pictures.

If you're not to concerned about the cosmetics then ask the welder to use the smallest Tungsten they have and a fairly low melting point rod as jds68stang suggested. But then again, the welder will know this. Another method which would give good results is to spot weld it. I believe that's how it was done at factory if I remember correctly.
I had a pair welded in Fort Worth and they turned out great. He used his Mig to weld it. I assume you are talking about the u-shaped bracket that holds up the whole assembly.

One of the "arms" Snapped in half when I was trying to raise it. It broke just above where it hinges.
I think those rims holding the headlights in are stainless.
I may be getting a bit off topic since the OP may have been talking about a different trim. Either way if the trim we're talking about is stainless then a tig or spot welder would be perfect for the job.
Anyone know if the trim to hold the headlights in place are stainless?
