Backup lamps intermittant
Having a problem with the backup lamps on my 74 with auto trans. When I shift from park to reverse the lights don't come on. Same with reverse to neutral and back down to drive, 2nd etc. but, when going the opposite direction the backup lamps come to life when I hit neutral. They flicker a bit when I go from neutral to reverse then once I'm completely in reverse they go dark. I'm wondering where the switch is the controls the lamps. Is it in the console, on top of the transmission, or maybe on the side of the transmission ? The trans was recently out to be re-sealed so I'm hoping maybe just some of the wires didn't get fully connnected. Anyone ever experience this ? Was putting on my new tail lamp and back up lenses (oooo what a difference NEW makes 
) and testing things out when I noticed the big 0 when in reverse.

Your back up switch is attached tot he shifter. You have to remove the shofter plate & probably the console too to get at it. Here is what it looks like: http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/prod...755F8A6CA5D678
