Huh glad I found this I have been wondering what the original color my white beast was. Bright blue metallic it seems. Hmmmmm might go back that way when I repaint as blue is my fav color.
Would all who have a 1974 Corvette check your paint codes for me. Many references list the 1974 paint codes in the form 9xx (where xx is a two digit number representing a color).
However, every 1974 that I have looked at (hundreds over the years) has a paint code in the form xxL (where xx is again a two digit number representing a color).
Just want to confirm that no one has a 1974 Corvette with a paint code of the form 9xx.
Thanks.
I have a 1974 with Paint code 922L on the vin plate so they are out there

..."922L" would not be on the VIN plate, it'd be on the trim tag on the driver's door pillar post.
...not doubting you as you may very well have the unicorn of '74s with yours. Many, many trim tags have been switched or reproduction ones installed over the years and are you very sure that your trim tag is original to YOUR car???
...can you post a pic of your trim tag? Many people here would love to see it. It would be also interesting to note that if your trim tag truly denotes "922", I would think that would have to be also called out like that on the broadcast sheet(buildsheet)to your '74 Corvette. My '74 is Corvette Orange, 80L, and on the broadcast sheet in the lower right hand corner says "UPPER-80" and underneath it "LOWER-80".
