Default Baldwin Stripes on a 76!

Finally finished the paint on the body today. Still needs alot of buffing, but turned out good for being done in a tent in the back yard.

For those who wondered what the stripe looks like on a rubber bumper car, Here ya go.

I was actually wondering how they would look on my '76. That looks really good!! I have the same rear bumper too.

Great job!

I think it's better with that bumper. I don't think it will look that good with a '74-'79 style bumper.

Basicly, I'm not a fan of the 80-82 rear ends on anthing but an 80-82, don't like red and question the look of the baldwin stripe on anythig but a baldwin. That being said, the Workmanship looks excellant.

Thanks for the comments. I took alot of photochopping and tape work to make up my mind to go around the rear bumper. 1inch too far either direction on the bumper makes a big difference in how much the bumper looks like it sticks out and is out of place. I think I found a happy medium.

"I think it's better with that bumper. I don't think it will look that good with a '74-'79 style bumper."

Your right, I dont think it would have turned out so good with the earlier bumper.

"Basicly, I'm not a fan of the 80-82 rear ends on anthing but an 80-82, don't like red and question the look of the baldwin stripe on anythig but a baldwin. That being said, the Workmanship looks excellant. "

Thats okay, not everone will like it, but I do. Besides, the Baldwin stripe just "speaks" to me, ya know.

"How'd you do the front bumper???
I'd love to do something similar to my 79."

First I used FUSOR 127EZ to bond it on (with bolts also), then glassed it from the outside and finished up with filler and a boat load of sanding.

"That's going to look "Awesome" when you finish it off with the hood!"

I am doing the doors and hood today. Probably be on it tomorrow or this weekend.

Well done, the paint and the stripes look really good. Hopefully I will be able to hit my 1970 buick this summer with paint in my garage to. If you dont mind doing some polishing you can make the paint look as though it was painted for $10,000. Keep us posted as you go along. Cheers

So did you glass in the rear bumper? Or did you just paint the bumper white, attach, and do a pinstripe to offset it? Can't really tell from the pic, either way it looks good!

If it's glassed, approximately where did you put the line? Right where the seam would have been?
