OK, I know, silly question, but I can't seem to figure out how to lock the back window into the storage "clip" properly. Could be that the speaker box is in the way. Any pics or diagrams from you guys?
Since the clip is in the tray I don't see how the speaker could interfere with the window. Unless it's stopping the tray from dropping down far enough to get the window in position.
Regards,
Alan
The rear window storage system depends on how early or late your 1971 Corvette was built. If your 'vette uses the 1970 window tray arrangement, the window is secured into the storage tray with 2 small levers that lock the window in place.
If your 'vette uses the 1972 window tray system, the aluminum frame portion of your window is pushed into a rubber coated bracket where it is held into place by a force fit. No levers are used to secure the window, the tray is pre-molded so that the window fits in a sunken shaped design to contain the windows shape.

Does it look like this?
Only the front of the tray drops down for the window to slide into it, so you'd have to have some pretty big speakers back there to prevent it from working properly.

Yes, that's what the "clip" looks like - does the window stow horizontally under the deck? I don't see the glass in your pic...

Yes.
You pull the clip forward to release the tray which is hinged in the back.
Slide the window onto the tray, top of window first, with the pins facing forward. The window should sit in the tray with the inside-side of the glass facing UP.
Push the tray back up to engage the clip which will hold the tray in place with the spring tension of the clip.
