Default Speed Shift Question?

Hey guys,

I just had a MSD ignition put on vette and it has the rev limitor, So I thought with the rev limitor ( Insurance) I could get more aggressive with my speed shifting at higher RPMS... It has the 6000 RPM chip in it and I tried twice to speed shift at or around 5600-5700RPM and it would not go into second gear so it hit the rev limit and I waited till the rpms came back down and then it went into gear? I tried a couple more times to make sure it was not DRIVER ERROR

I have speed shifted plenty at lower rpms. Is this just too much rpm to shift into second?

Is there a sychronizer issue?

What is ya'lls experience with speed shifting and RPMS? And what is your thought on my issue?

Thanks!

Michael

Factory shifter or a Hurst? How tight is the linkage?

You will get some rpm 'peaking' during a speed shift [during the gear transition change]. You may need to experiment with raising the limiter to where it won't cut out unless you actually 'miss' the shift.
