Default Removing Headlight switch...

Quick question for someone here.

I need to remove the headlight switch from the dash on a 77. I have the dash piece out of the car, but I cant remember how to remove the handle from the switch. Do I just pull it straight out of the switch? I tried pulling straight out, but it didnt want to come out. I dont want to break it because it is a newer switch.

I need the switch off so I can paint the dash pad.

Thanks

Ahhhh OK cool.

That lead me to another question, how do I get the switch off the dash. I dont have it in front of me now so I cant look at it. Does it unscrew?

Thanks for the info. That helps alot!!!

Yes the is a hollow bolt that uses a large flat blade screwdrive to unscrew it from the switch. this is also what holds the covers that says light's in place

there is a spring loaded button on top of the switch that has to be depressed to release the light switch lever. Then you can unscrew the large bolt in the front to drop the switch out the back side.

hth,

Just make sure the the **** and shaft are pulled all the way out (on position), prior to depressing the small button. If not, you wont be able to remove it.
