Mark was a friend of mine. The car really wasn't for sale but he was trying to help me out. When the car developed the knock i was accelerating from 60 to 65 MPH and not hard at all. Like I said I had just bought the car and it takes me a little while to feel comfortable enough to really drive it. I immediately stopped the car and called Mark and asked him what I should do. NOT "Mark you need to take this car back". HE brought up the option to buy the car back from me cause he really hated to see it go. Mark is a real stand up guy and he told me the car will be for sale again for me when I get back to school if I want it. I would have fixed it if I wasn't 800 miles away from home. The car was worth it believe me!
If the car left my hands in good shape as far as I knew, I'd have to say sorry because you never know what happens with it after they drive away. You were very lucky. Hopefully it's nothing major and it works out best for both of you.
I know the feeling after buying mine, a few things went wrong and I was like, oh crap did I just get taken? Luckily everything was minor.
I just had this happen to me. I sold a guy a 2004 Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel Quad Cad. I never had any problems with this truck. I sold it cheap because of fuel prices I knew it would be hard to sell. This guy had it for 32 days, was driving it Hot-Shot over the road pulling a 4 car trailer. He calls me, says the truck just quit and he want to return it! I said sorry, you had it over a month and I don't know how you have been driving it, it is yours to fix! I also had a big AS IS in the bill of sale. I can't believe some people!

Not sure what the law is in all states, but in Kentucky, when you buy a used car it is sold "as is". It is refreshing to hear a story like this though where a guy like Mark makes a situation right even though he did not have to. There are not many people left in this world like this. My hat is off to you Mark !!!!!!!!
