A friend said to use a Show Car Glaze. From what I read, a glaze is a polish without any cleaning properties. Its primary function is to improve the paint's brilliance and clarity. Glazes also contain fillers to mask or visually reduce paint imperfections. I have been told nothing compares.
Since my 1969 is black, and looks good waxed up I started to do some research. Unfortunately the stuff can be expensive. Amazon sells Zymol Z117 Ebony Black Wax. But at $61.00……
Meguiar’s has #7 Show Car Glaze. Then there’s Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze.
Before I go nuts. Anyone have first hand experience with this stuff?
Better than just waxing the car? I have been using a few waxes. One of my favorites is the one with a Corvette on it. I comes in a can (Ultimate Wax???)
Anyway, the car feels like glass when I am done. I glaze superior to that. I was lead to believe it was.
For a show car paint job Meguires #7 is great for hiding swirls in the paint. The paint will look wet BUT it has no staying power at all. You can just about wash it off with a hose. It also will not cause the body shop any grief if you ever need to have any paint work done. It has no silicones in it.

This has been the best is have used so far.
Wondering if a glaze would be even better?
I have tried them all over the years, including Liquid Glass. Once you try the Zaino line of polishes and sealants you will never use anything other than Zaino. Zaino Clear Sealant followed by Z8 is hard to beat for shine and durability. Go into the ZainoBros. Web sight. You can order on line or through their 800 number. You will have it in 2 days. They have a wide array of products for general maintenance or corrective work for your paint. Easy to use.

I have a 69 Black Corvette and a Black Toyota Corolla XRS and I have been trouble getting a deep gloss shine that I would like. Mind you, they look good. But I wanted that DEEP high gloss shine.
Someone told me glazes will help achieve that look. I have been posting on a number of sites (Corvette and Toyota) asking about glazes. I have not received too many replies. I guess not many people use them and they do not last very long from what I can tell. But one name comes up consistently as top of the line: Zaino. Funny, I never heard of them before.
I've used #7 on my Corvettes since the 70's I like it a lot, it's great for shows but as others have said, it's a one-time on and doesn't last. Not what it's for. It doesn't show any buildup like some waxes-it's a polish. As nice as the finish is, I would not call it a "wet" look.
Never liked Liquid Glass, and while Zaino is good, they are a bit overrated in my book. Never understood the hoopla. I still like Meguire's waxes, kept up with #7 for polishing.
Zaino's good, if you like the plastic look. I prefer Meguiars professional line. Nice deep clean shine all the time.
I recommend doing the whole routine (Wash/Clay/Cleaner Polish/Wax/Glaze)
I am a avid detailer of my cars. I have used Meguiar’s for years. But, I decided to try Meguiar’s NXT. It is actually a synthetic polymer wax. Last a good while and shines as good as #7 in my opinion. Goes on and comes off even easier. It also is not nearly as expensive.
Zaino is a decent product, but not easy to apply, and I think it's overrated. I would suggest you clay the car, then use pinnacle XMT360 polish then top it off with pinnacle souveragn (SP?) carnuba. I am of the opinion that if you want a deep wet shine you should use a polish or glaze as a means of buffing the paint to a shine then you will get the deep wet look with carnuba wax. The carnuba is not as durable as a polymer like zaino or wizards but you will get the shine that you want and as long as you don't hit it with Dawn when you wash it or use car wash concentrate straight on the car you won't wash it off that easily. After you wax it give it a wash once a month or so and top it with a light coat of carnuba or carnuba detail spray and you will be good to go.
